119 Pages/Italian If we had to narrow down the most important motorcycles of the last century to ten models, the Ducati 916 would certainly be one of them.
Designed by the golden hand of Massimo Tamburini and born in the 1990s, it became an instant classic that many enthusiasts dreamed of as soon as it was presented at the 1993 Milan Motor Show. The engine was the same one Ducati had used in the 851/888 series, but compared to these already great superbikes, the new 916 was a decade leap forward with a completely new design.
The chassis was completely revised, the dress was tighter, the headlight was split into a narrower section, the exhaust was placed under the tail, and the swingarm was cantilevered. With a bike of this beauty, any flaws could be forgiven.
As if that weren't enough, the bike has also been a huge success on the track, winning the Superbike World Championship in phenomenal fashion.
