150mm(width)×210mm(length) In the mid-1960s, ABARTH developed tuning cars based on the FIAT 850 Coupe. However, there were limits to what could be achieved by simply enlarging the 850 engine.
So Carlo Abarth set his sights on the 1.3L engine for the FIAT 124, which had just been released in 1966. This robust engine was bored out and fitted into the compact and lightweight body of the 850 Coupe, a technique known as an "engine swap," resulting in the FIAT ABARTH 1300, a "wolf in sheep's clothing" model.
