1/43 SOLIDO Vincenzo Lancia entered the automotive world as a racing driver and eventually founded his eponymous company in 1906. In 1908, the first model, the Alfa, was launched. In 1922, the famous LAMBDA, a masterpiece, was introduced, making the name LANCIA famous.
In 1931, Astura was introduced, named not after the Greek letters but after the old Roman road. At that time, the manufacturer built the running chassis, and various carrozzerias installed the body according to the owner's preference. The 1/43 scale ASTURA COUPE GRAN LUSSO debuted in 1934, and as the name suggests, this sleek model with a coupe body was designed by STABILIMENTI FARINA. The young Battista-Pininfarina's skill was put to use on this model, which is a big nod to its beautiful appearance.
One of the miniature model series that LANCIA lined up as genuine accessories in the 1990s was made by SOLIDO. It is beautifully finished with a sleek body form and massive paintwork. Following the example of genuine miniature models of the time, it is housed in a steel can case. |
